Villanelle: On The Beach.

From the far horizon the salt sea came,
From the dark green heart of the sea king’s throne,
Forever changing but always the same.

The children run towards the sun’s flame,
Excitement shivering in every bone,
From the far horizon the salt sea came.

Castles are built for the waves to reclaim
While clouds slip away with a silent moan.
Forever changing but always the same.

Buckets sway, spill, pour in an endless game.
Unleashed into the depths of mouths unknown,
From the far horizon the salt sea came.

Shrieks of joy float out, an eternal claim,
Carried to new places and times, alone,
Forever changing but always the same.

Still the old ones sit, their past all aflame,
taking stock of where memories have flown,
From the far horizon the salt sea came,
Forever changing but always the same.

    Hello Patricia,

Cornelia Parker brought us together, although she doesn’t know. I love your Blog, and your writing, and your pictures. Thank you. I am a poet and artist myself, living and working in Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately I have no Blog, yet. But I do have a Facebook profile (patricia cecilia burrowes guarani-caiowa). Friendly regards to you, from Brazil.
