Walking the Line.

Life is a trembling tightrope, stretched by fate over a gaping gorge,
High above a racing stream.
It’s all about balance.

Balance between time spent and time wasted, time enjoyed and time endured.
Time remembered and time forgotten,
Time savoured and time spat out.

Balance between desire and necessity, delusions and dreams.
A fine line stretched between abilities and achievements,
Rewards deserved and rewards gained.

Balance between the straight path of work and duty
And the wavering powers of a wayward world.
Things lost, things gained and things out of reach,

Balance between reality and reputation,
People who nourish and people who intrude.
Those who judge and those who see nothing.

Hold your nerve, walk the line, and don’t look down.
