Nude Reclining On Tree Stump.

Weathered and beaten,
Ancient and wise,
She lies perfectly balanced
Between past and future,
Seizing her final moment
To display her battered beauty,
Her youth gone,
Her energy leached away
By sun, wind and water,
Her hopes intact.

Stare all you like,
She doesn’t care what you think.
She has grown, blossomed, withered,
Drank her fill of dark water
From the bowels of the earth.
She has seen life,
Known pain,
Survived death.
She lies, legs crossed, serene.
Nothing can hurt her now.
