This had a great central performance from Georgina Roberts, which a character like Lola Montez needs, earthy, sexy and funny. She was totally confident and full of life and danger. Her opposite number was Fiona Putnam, who had to be fast, accurate and versatile playing a number of parts. There were some excellent physical touches- the use of a fan opening and shutting against a mouth to simulate screaming for example, and some great music and flamenco dance to heighten emotion and move the story along without words. It was fast and furious and it went down a storm with me.
