How a bestselling writer ends up in our local library talking to an audience of about ten I have no idea but I’m extremely glad that Kate Long did just that. She was warm, relaxed, friendly and approachable and I was glad to be able to take advantage of the small audience and have a talk to her after her session about plot, networking and marketing. She was very kind and encouraging, something much needed when you are waiting for the inevitable rejections to slump back through the door. I liked her novel, The Bad Mothers Handbook, it’s an excellent light read with plenty to make you think. The characters are believable and engaging, and there is a heart and warmth in the book which seems to me to come straight from its author.
